The
Summer Party
Some
225 members enjoyed the annual Summer Party on 7 th
June. Held on a stunning summers evening, President
Richard Fuller and his wife Charlotte welcomed guests to
their home in Penwood. A delicious lamb and
turkey roast, which also featured sika deer reared
by the Fullers, was accompanied by Pimms, wine and a generous
amount of Fullers brew.
The Hall and Hunter Partnership kindly donated the delicious
strawberries for pudding
The
beautiful gardens were enjoyed at leisure by guests.
Gentle
background music enabled lively conversation and much laughter
before dusk heralded home time
The Stable Tour A
bright sunny morning greeted the 30 members who braved the
early start for a tour of Saxon Lodge, Lambourn. Trainer
Julia Tooth kindly invited members to see the horses work
on the Lambourn gallops followed by a tour of the yard.
The morning was completed with a delicious champagne breakfast
cooked by Jane Scholl.
A collection for the Injured Jcokey Fund raised over £120.00
A second trip to the stable is planned for the 25 th October.
The
Farm Walk
60 members were lucky enough to be able to tour Fullers
at Chiswick in May. The tour took in all parts of the brewing
process from the arrival of the raw materials to the packaging
of the beer on the cask racking line. The tour ended with
a full tasting session of Fuller's beers including London
Pride, accompanied by delicious supper to soak up the alcohol!
Guests enjoyed looking at the Fuller's wisteria - which
is believed to be the oldest in the country.
The
Rogation Service 2008
The Rogation service
took place on 27th April at Barn Elms Farm. Some 85 people
enjoyed the walk round Barn Elms Farm and Rushall Farm.
The blue bell wood was in full colour and looked stunning.

Wantage Silver Band round
A sumptuous afternoon tea was prepared by Mr Bissell and
Mr Farmer to round the afternoon off.
