Tents Galore with No Room to Spare!

Royal County of Berkshire Show organisers report that trade space at the Newbury Showground is completely sold out for the weekend event. Marking out the 177 acre site into the hundreds of plots is almost complete and a number of the huge marquees, including a new frame tent for the Food Fare is in position. The framed structure without centre supports means visitors will be able to move around more easily in what is always a popular, tasting area!

Another new marquee is a 500 seater, colourful Big Top where the amazing international Festival Circus will perform. They will perform a series of circus shows, featuring a cast of top performers from Romania, Hungary, Austria and Britain. The spectacular shows include daring trapeze, sensational handbalancing, hilarious comedy, acrobatics, balancing, a contortionist – and of course, comedy from your favourite clown, George!

During the day, there will also be circus workshops inside the Big Top. Children and young people can try their hand at a variety of circus skills, with help and supervision from circus professionals. Ringmaster Nic Balthrop explained, “There’s something for all the family at the Festival Circus, so roll-up, roll-up and share in the excitement and the magic of the circus!”

The Royal County of Berkshire Show takes place on 21st and 22nd September at Newbury Showground adjacent to the M4/A34 Junction 13. Advance tickets: adult - £8.00, child (5-16 years) - £5.00, admission on the day: adult - £10.00 child - £6.00. A £20 family ticket (2 adults plus 2 children) is only available in advance.
